Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

    The ICU of Liaocheng People's Hospital was established in 1996. It is the earliest, largest and best-qualified ICU in Northwest Shandong. Its service scope covers the surrounding areas of Henan, Hebei and Shanxi. It is the key specialty of medicine and health in Shandong Province and the key clinical specialty in Shandong Province.It is the training point for master's degree in critical medicine of Taishan Medical College.

    At present, there are 98 medical staff in ICU, including 15 specialized intensive care physicians, 3 chief physicians, 2 deputy chief physicians, 6 attending physicians, 1 doctor candidate, 13 master candidates, and 2 postgraduate supervisors of critical care medicine in taishan medical college. Six doctors have studied in the United States, South Korea and Austria, and four doctors have received systematic theoretical training in critical care medicine at Peking union medical college hospital and Peking University people's hospital. All nursing staff have college education or above, and it is the first batch of ICU professional nurse training base in Shandong Province. Director Wu Tiejun is one of the founders of Shandong Serious Care Medicine. He is a member of the National Medical Examination Editorial Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the Branch of Serious Care Medicine of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Standing Committee of the Critical Care Medical Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, a member of the Critical Care Professional Group of the Emergency Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice-chairman of the Branch of Critical Care Medicine of the Provincial Medical Association and chairman of the Branch of Critical Respiration of Shandong Medical Association. Tian Suochen, deputy director, served as a young member of the Branch of Critical Care Medicine of the Chinese Medical Association. 

    There are 40 beds in 3 wards of ICU, which are designed in accordance with the Guidelines for the Construction and Management of ICU issued by the Ministry of Health. The investment of basic equipment is over 30 million yuan, and there are continuously upgradable and advanced ICU management systems. The single bed area is 15-20 square meters, 360 degree life island design, equipped with advanced cranes transfusion management system, high-end ecg monitoring instrument, such as gen noninvasive ventilator based monitoring treatment equipment, And equipped with advanced bedside blood filtration machines, bedside ultrasound fiber bronchoscope, automatic roll over weighing bed, have a noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring system, bedside X-ray machine thrombosis prevention and control of vibration row phlegm machine, nutritional support system ECMO, aortic balloon counterpulsation, exchange of intravascular temperature controller, the eeg, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) machine, rapid bedside testing laboratory, prevention and control of cross infection system has provided the sufficient guarantee for the effective treatment for patients. According to the personnel structure, the sub-specialties were divided into severe obstetrics, severe nutrition, severe ultrasound, severe CRRT, severe immunization and ECMO treatment group, and intravascular heat exchange treatment group.

    In ICU, 1800-2000 patients with severe illness were admitted. Bedside fiberoptic bronchoscopy therapy (1997), blood purification technology (2001), bedside ultrasound technology (2007), intravascular mild hypothermia therapy (2014) were first developed in Shandong Province, and a rapid bedside testing laboratory was established in 2012. PICCO monitoring, ECMO therapy, heterozygous blood purification, stem cell transplantation, aortic balloon counterpulsation, severe ultrasound monitoring and intravascular heat exchange therapy have been routinely carried out.

    It undertakes one research project of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the Center for Continuing Education, one project of Shandong Science and Technology Development Plan, three projects of Shandong Medical and Health Science and Technology Development Plan and two projects of Liaocheng Science and Technology Development Plan. It has won one Shandong Science and Technology Progress Award, four Shandong Medical Science and Technology Award, and five Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award. It has published more than 60 papers and six SCI papers in core medical journals. Publishing 6 monographs, 3 invention patents, 2 national continuing education classes and 2 provincial academic conferences.

    The department has received more than 30 doctors for further study, and has cultivated 9 graduate students majoring in critical care medicine, 3 of whom have graduated and 6 of whom are currently studying. As one of the first ICU professional nurse post training and clinical teaching bases in shandong province, it has received more than 50 nurses from hospitals at all levels in the province. It is the intensive care ultrasound training base in shandong province and the severe care CRRT training base in shandong province. It has won many honorary titles, such as "Women Civilization Post" in China and "Youth Civilization " in Shandong Province.
